
PERWIRA Seals Strategic Partnership with EREKY, Strengthening Regional Halal Industry for Global Opportunities
Bandar Seri Begawan, 1 September 2025 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Veterans Association (PERWIRA), through its subsidiary BRUWIRA Industry, has recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with International Halal Trade Hub & Services (IHTHS Corporation) and EREKY Co. Ltd.
The agreement marks the establishment of the Islamic Science Business Centre & Halal Standard Verification Services (ISHSVS) for VECONAC PERWIRA in Brunei, further strengthening PERWIRA’s role in creating new economic opportunities for veterans by venturing into the rapidly growing global halal industry.
The signing ceremony, held at Wisma PERWIRA, Jalan Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah, Berakas, was witnessed by members of the PERWIRA Executive Board and the Director of the VECONAC Business Centre VARBAF.
PERWIRA President, Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Awang Ramli bin Haji Abdul Hadis, signed on behalf of the association, emphasizing the regional and international significance of this initiative through the global value chain.
Key highlights of the partnership include halal product testing, knowledge sharing, training and advisory services, as well as economic empowerment.
In his remarks, Lt. Col. (Rtd) Awang Ramli stated:
“This strategic partnership is proof of our commitment to the welfare and future of veterans. By venturing into the halal industry, we are not only opening new opportunities for our members but also positioning Brunei as an important nation in the global halal economy.”
Meanwhile, IHTHS Corporation CEO, Dayang Siti Nurr Saffa Anattii, expressed:
“We are proud to bring expertise in halal standards and business development through this collaboration. ISHSVS will serve as an important resource, bridging the gap for companies seeking to enter the international halal market.”
EREKY Co. Ltd. CEO, Khun Wirisr Kulapongsphiwat, added:
