If you run a business, you know this feeling. You can see exactly where the company needs to go. You’ve explained it — more than once. And somehow it still doesn’t quite land.
The problem usually isn’t that your team isn’t trying. It’s that most people have been trained to complete tasks, not to think like the person who owns the outcome. Those are two very different skills, and almost nobody teaches the second one.
That’s the gap my friends at IAA Learning+ are trying to close with a programme called SME Right Hand — and I thought it was worth sharing here.
It isn’t general staff training. It’s nine days of building one person into a genuine second-in-command: someone who can sit across from the CEO, follow the reasoning, push back when it matters, and then actually carry the thing forward.

What the nine days actually cover
Day 1 — Think Like a Business Owner. Dropping the employee lens and picking up the owner’s. Business simulation game, business models, and a real mindset shift.
Day 2 — Decoding the CEO Mind. Learning to read what the CEO is actually asking for. A “CEO Translation Lab,” how executives decide, and how to ask for clarification like a professional rather than a subordinate.
Day 3 — Leading Yourself in Uncertainty. Working well when the ground keeps moving. MBTI self-awareness, managing your own emotions and behaviour, plus group coaching.
Day 4 — Think Clearly, Solve Smart. 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, logic trees, decision-making under uncertainty, and a “Chaos Factory” simulation.
Day 5 — Align & Influence. The CLEAR communication model, reading people of different styles through MBTI, and a lab dedicated entirely to difficult conversations.
Day 6 — See Opportunity Others Miss. Finding real pain points and insights, five-step design thinking, and an innovation lab.
Day 7 — Pitch Ideas That Win. Business storytelling, executive communication, and pitching the way a right hand pitches.
Day 8 — Project Execution Mastery. Agile and execution management, AI tools for running projects, and cross-functional collaboration.
Day 9 — The Right-Hand Mindset. Learn, adapt, lead forward — taking feedback without flinching, building a personal development plan, and receiving your certificate.
Who it’s for
IAA describes three groups: key people that owners and executives specifically want to develop; employees ready to step up toward a management role; and anyone preparing themselves to run a business of their own one day.
